Private Equity Acquisitions
Our primary goal is to acquire majority control of companies or businesses which have improvable intrinsic value. We prefer to buy when a company has suffered temporary reversals, or has problems which can be fixed or improved, or has an industry consolidation opportunity. We like companies with neglected assets and opportunities which can be utilized and improved effectively. We like management recapitalizations where we can buy out aging or disinterested owners and back management-led growth initiatives with management having the incentives of co-owners.
Bird Capital Group, as a principal, actively seeks acquisitions of improvable privately-owned businesses with the following criteria:
- From $20 million to $200 million in value
- Profitable, or capable of achieving profitability rapidly and superior profitability ultimately
- With actual or achievable basis for sustainable competitive advantage
- With identifiable value growth opportunities
We are particularly interested in Internet-related software and service businesses.
